Contact the Toastmaster to find out if there is a theme to the evening
Ensure that the Toastmaster knows in advance that you will be attending to conduct your role.
Choose a topic which is timely.
Choose a topic which everyone will be able to speak about.
Arrive early for the meeting.
When invited, proceed to the front and explain the role – to give everyone a chance to speak.
Explain that visitors may pass.
Explain your topic and give your response.
Explain the order in which people will speak e.g. start with Bob, snake to the back of the room on the left, coming back to the front on the right.
When everyone has spoken, thank everyone and pass to the Toastmaster.
